FROM THE TRACK TO THE ROAD
Galfer's ultimate top competition awarded discs finally hit the roads with the new Floatech® Road brake discs, where elite racing technology meets everyday durability. The high performance technology used in MotoGP is now available for everyone, offering the same reliabilty and performance.
Innovative design in disc and core connection with a patented system that increases disc floatability, allowing the wheel to spin more freely, improving the entire braking systems response. Additionally it minimises core wear, ensuring stability and durability over time without increasing play due to long-term use.
The Floatech® Road patented design offers excellent thermal resistance, ensuring that the disc floats freely regardless of temperature, guaranteeing optimal performance even in extreme conditions. The disc design optimises heat dissipation and improves braking capacity, ensuring maximum efficiency and stability in every brake application.
The pads are separated from the disc just enough to prevent unwanted friction, avoiding premature wear.
Competition technology optimised for road use, offering maximum performance at a significantly more affordable price than racing discs.
Floatech® Racing discs original design is not suitable for street use as the core presents free play that would generate noise, discomfort, and greater wear on motorcycles outside of a racing environment. In a competition setting these concerns are not relevant, but Floatech® Road addresses them for the street rider.
To adapt Floatech® technology to the urban environment Galfer developed a patented system, modifying the connection between the core and disc using springs and a riveted pin. This innovative design maintains optimal floatability, eliminates noise, and ensures the same braking performance as in competition.
Floatech® Road surpasses conventional floating discs thanks to its innovative disc, core and connection system design. The rectangular anchoring system provides a larger contact are during braking, reducing wear compared to other floating discs which concentrates contact in a smaller area, leading to localised wear and unwanted core play over time.
The bushing and springs are made from steel, unlike the aluminium used in racing. This configuration ensures the component is tamper proof, preventing any modifications and guaranteeing its R90 certificattion.
Floatech® Road carries an FIM Quality Assurance Seal, reinforcing it's positioning and excellence in competition.

Fitment/Safety/Warranty Notice.
CAUTION! SAFETY NOTICE! PLEASE READ!
- Please read these instructions carefully before attempting installation.
- Always read mounting instructions on the disc packaging.
- These instructions are a guideline and not special for a specific brand.
- It is recommended that you use new pads, Galfer or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), when mounting a new disc. Old or used pads may take a long time to bed in a new disc and may adversely affect the performance and longevity of the new disc. The use of other aftermarket brands of pads with Galfer discs will invalidate your warranty and could reduce performance.
- Make sure the wheel hub contact surface is free of dirt or paint and use new disc mounting bolts if necessary.
- Replace your brake fluid frequently and make sure your brake system is bled correctly.
- The thickness of the Galfer disc may vary from the original disc; this difference is not of any importance for your brake function.
- Centre the disc on the clean hub and mount the bolts according to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) torque specs.
- Always use your new brakes gently for the first 100 km (60 miles) or 2 hours of riding after installation (except in emergency situations). This will allow the new disc and pads to mate properly. Avoid harsh braking during this period unless in an emergency. Braking power can be severely reduced during the breaking-in period. Repeated hard braking during the bed-in period can result in wheel lock, brake-loss and damaged pads.
- Check clips, hub mounting bolts and caliper mounting bolts regularly during the lifetime of your Galfer product. Replace or tighten to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications as necessary.
- All Galfer discs and kits can be used with the standard brake hosing and the stock master cylinder.
- Consult a certified dealer or professional mechanic if you are not fully qualified in motorcycle maintenance. Galfer cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by incorrect product mounting, disregarding specifications and these instructions, or product mounting by an unqualified third party.
